Yes. You have ownership of your composition made with Prime Vocals vocals, but as a reminder, you don’t own the copyright to the actual vocal samples. Other Prime Vocals users can use the same vocal samples without infringing on your track and vice versa.

 

Can I register my creative work that uses Non-Exclusive Vocals for a copyright?

We encourage you to explore your options to register a copyright in your work. While we do not prohibit you from doing so, copyright law will dictate whether or not you are eligible for registration.

 

If another producer uses the same Non-Exclusive Vocal as me in their work, is my work infringing on their work?

No. All users will have Non-Exclusive licenses, there will be many producers that use the same Vocal as you.

 

What do you mean by not being able to use the “likeness” of an artist in my work?

Based on our terms of service, you cannot use the name or likeness of singers whose Non-Exclusive Vocal Samples are distributed on Prime Vocals. Some examples of using the name or likeness of a singer would be to include a photo of the singer when promoting your track, crediting them as a feature on your track, or including them as a contributor to the track when splitting royalties.

 

Do I need to give Prime Vocals credit when registering with a PRO (publishing rights organization) like ASCAP or BMI?

No. Prime Vocals is not a co-owner of your track, so there is no need to credit Prime Vocals when registering your track with a PRO.

 

Do I need to give the Singer of Non-Exclusive Vocals credit?

No.

 

Can I use Prime Vocals vocals in a composition that I’m creating for a movie or video game?

Yes. You can use Prime Vocals vocals in any composition. If you wish for your composition to be included in an audio-visual work - You have absolutely that right because you are the full owner of your new music composition (track).

 

If I use an unedited, isolated vocal loop as the beginning of my composition, do I need to credit Prime Vocals ?

Yes. If you use an unedited, isolated vocal loop from Prime Vocalsas the beginning of your composition, you are required to credit Prime Vocalsin the credits or description of your composition. This is to acknowledge the use of their vocal sample in your work.

 

Can I remix or modify the Non-Exclusive Vocals I downloaded from Prime Vocals?

Yes. You can remix or modify the Non-Exclusive Vocals you downloaded from Prime Vocals to fit your composition. However, you are not allowed to repackage or sell the modified vocals as standalone sample packs or loops. The modified vocals must be used in a new music product, such as a new song or track.

 

Can I share the Non-Exclusive Vocals I downloaded from Prime Vocals with other producers? 

No. The Non-Exclusive vocals you downloaded from Prime Vocals are for your use only and cannot be shared or distributed to other producers. Each producer must purchase their own license from Prime Vocals to use the vocals in their compositions.

 

Can I use the vocals in a live performance or DJ set?

Yes. You can use Prime Vocals vocals in a live performance or DJ set without any additional permission, as long as you have purchased a valid license from Prime Vocals and are using the vocals in accordance with their terms and conditions.

 

Can I use the vocals in a commercial advertisement or promotional campaign? 

Yes. You can use Prime Vocals vocals in a commercial advertisement or promotional campaign, as long as you have purchased a valid license from Prime Vocals and are using the vocals in accordance with their terms and conditions.
